This is a set of (4) four 16-gauge Z-Brackets (also known as rooftop unit "Z-Clips", "hurricane clips", or "hold down brackets"), they are used to fasten an RTU to a roof curb (screws are NOT included).
What is a hold down bracket?
A hold-down bracket screws into the base rails of a rooftop HVAC unit (RTU), while the other end is screwed by screws into the roof curb. Using a series of these Z-brackets can prevent the RTU from being blown off the roof curb by securely anchoring them.
**NOTE: Hold-down or Z-brackets are a great add-on to secure your rooftop unit. However, if your goal is to meet your local building code, you must have a wind-rated curb and tie-down engineering (anchorage) stamped by a professional engineer (P.E.). A P.E.'s stamp ensures that a professional engineer registered in the state of the project has reviewed the roof curb and the hold down bracket design, confirming the wind load calculation design is adequate for transmitting the intended wind loads from the rooftop unit to the roof.**
